How to Change the World
Tom Johnston opens our message with a description of what education is and what it is not; using examples and comparisons of how education has been designed and focused in our modern society locally, abroad, and how it had been in the past. The root of our learning tradition is described in Deuteronomy 6:1-9 & Matthew 22:34-40; discipleship and education needs to be one of the primary tasks of the Kingdom Community for us to influence the culture.
Linda Brady shares her passion for the education of children not just from our church and schools but through the parents and Church Community working together. There are resources within our community for supporting and equipping parents to fulfill their roles as primary teachers for their children. Let's lead our children to love God, love others, and be a light in their communities.
Tim and Selina McGinnin share how they are approaching the training of the youth in our community. Recognizing the limited time that they personally have with each youth, they are partnering with the parents and intergenerational members of our community to help the youth strengthen their relationships with God and with others.
Tom describes what adult discipleship looks like within our community and challenges us to take the steps we need to grow in our relationships with God and with others. Let us become the intergenerational Community that fulfills God's calling in our own lives and in the lives of the people around us!
